ABOUT AUSET ATHLETIC

The main goal of these bikes is to have fun, be unique and stand out.
Taking inspiration form the Rat Look community, my expressed designs are inspired mostly by Music, TV, Film, Comics, Games, Art and general Pop Culture.
I love working on bikes that are originally from the 50’s and 60’s, but I also find myself working on a selection of bikes from the 80’s and 90’s era too. All bikes are cleaned, striped, overhauled and sympathetically put back together to a functional standard with old, new, recycled and original parts.

THE CATALYST
Whilst trawling the internet looking for inspiration to design and build SHIFTE, I came across this bike on a famous online auction site and fell in love. With its shabby chic, ratty good looks, I had to have it. Great for commutes to the pub and always a talking point of interest amongst peers (and strangers). After having such a good time riding around on RUSTY I decided to build my own rusty bike…. que Ya’Mamma!

FIRST BETA ORPHAN
Not long after RUSTY, Ya’Mamma was born. I wanted to build a similar bike but with different characteristics, using inspiration from the song Ya Mama by The Pharcyde and how I would react if people didn’t like my 2nd rat looking bike :O)
