54QUEENS
54QUEENS
BIO
I stripped 54 Queens of its paint leaving some remnants of primer in the joins and random parts of the frame for a more grimy/grubby look. The forks were rusted (with a right side bare steel logo) and the aluminium frame was treated with a special solution that gave it that grubby patina.
A few new parts were added to 54 Queens: Gold chain, Gold seat post clamp, Gold handlebar end caps, Gold water bottle, Green brake calipers, Black flat pedals and bottle cage, Rusted bell, 60mm stem, Topeak iPhone ridecase and handlebar bag. Customised a few bits too: Black towel for covering the saddle, peddle straps, and bartape. Feathered zips for the handlebar bag and a custom ass saver and spoke disk too.

Rescued this cute Raleigh Safari from an old couple in London. Then stripped her of all paint to gave it the full rust treatment. Mods include new yellow boots, some green cabling and a green bike chain (took a while to find the right shade of green to match the brake housing though)
No reupholstered saddle this time but I did finish the bike off with some super cool limited edition tie-dye pedals and grips.

PSYCHO KILLER
PSYCHO KILLER
BIO
Its been a while since I wanted to try a two tone rust look on a bike and Psycho Killer was the perfect project to experiment on by rusting the mud guards and slightly rusting the frame.
Psycho Killer comes with yellow cable housing and a yellow bike chain, with an inspired pair of blood curdling pedals and grips representative of the famous horror movie.

Red Chakra started off as just frame and forks.
Concept for this build was inspired by one of my favourite Rurals tracks – Red Chakra.
Rust with red accents… and lots of BASS ;O)
Mods include reupholstered saddle with painted seat rails (in red). Logos are located on the saddle (which was made from red denim + trademark wonky stitching) and the bottom part of the seat tube (exposed raw steel logo).

I had big plans for this one. The ol’skool frame was close but not what I’d expected, so I changed the design approach and bought some gum coloured tyres. Alas these tyres were not the gum colour I was expecting (but still looked cool) so it was back to the drawing board. On my third and final attempt, I used Family Guy’s character Charmisse to inspire the bikes concept and design (a working girl that’s trying to do the best with what she has, despite the disappointments she has experienced).
Charmisse is a de-rusted chrome frame with rusted handlebars, seat rails, cranks, wheels, pegs and gyro with a costume multi coloured cable splitters. Charmisse was also given a brand new silver chain and a pair of cool limited edition pedals and grips. A peach flux leather mini skirt was appropriately bought to cover the saddle. Real leather was used as the Auset Athletic logo using the trademark wonky stitching to seam it all together :p
Even though Charmisse is a low end prostitute. I think she just needs someone to cut her a brake and take her out the game. I’ve tested her for 3 miles since completion and I think she rides great ;0)

Surface rust was partly developed by using the leftovers of a can of beer to make Beer Can Chicken, resulting in a well covered rusty frame that’s rich in colour with a tint of redness.
Not too many mods on this build, just the painting of the chainring, stem and bolts. All in all very happy with the black on rust (with purple accents). Would love to see this rust bucket hit a half pipe one day, I imagine it would look awesome #tailwhip

BIO
This bike was stripped of all original decals and replaced with personally designed ones (professionally printed by Diginate). Decals consisted of orions belt, the name of bike and the constellations of Orion and Canis Major.
SW-9.1.5. was given new grips, white wall tyres and an old vintage sprung saddle. A little tricky to handle with her coaster brake, but she ran smoother than a chocolate mug of hot Baileys.

YA’MAMMA
BIO
This one was a bit of an experiment to see if I could marry the old with the new. Unsure if I could pull it off, I continued the build with the song Ya Mama (by The Pharcyde) in mind, so that on lookers would know that I just don’t give a #@$% about how I look :O)
Ya’Mamma was stripped of all paint and rust with a darkening ingredient. Along with a brand new pair of white trainers Ya’Mamma was given a white chain and towels to cover the bull horn handle bars and Brooks saddle (towel nicked courtesy of popular hotel as advertised by Lenny Henry :O)
During the rusting process I exposed the raw steel in the form of an old Shapez Athletic logo (top tube) and the constellation of Canis Major (left fork and seat tube) and Virgo (right fork)
